RMRK is consolidating to Base as its single home chain. If you hold RMRK on Substrate chains (Karura, Moonriver, Asset Hub), here's what you need to know.

What happened

The original RMRK bridge on Moonbeam stopped functioning. To preserve token holder value, we've force-bridged the total remaining on-Substrate supply (~2.8M RMRK, approximately 28% of total supply) on Moonbeam, and are holding it there for future manual bridging demands (see below) and reconsolidation.

What this means for you

Your Substrate RMRK tokens still exist, but are now claim tickets for Base or Moonbeam RMRK. They should not be traded on Substrate DEXes.

How to claim (deadline: December 31, 2026)

1. If on Karura or Asset Hub: Bridge to Moonriver first via Moonbeam XCM
2. On Moonriver: Go to bridge.rmrk.app, connect wallet, approve claim for your full balance (partial claims are not supported)
3. Wait: Claims are processed automatically on a regular basis (daily or weekly depending on volume)
4. Receive: Tokens arrive on Base at the same address, minus 5% late bridging fee

Where do fees go?

All bridging fees are permanently locked into RMRK liquidity via value.eth. They cannot be sold — they only deepen permanent liquidity.

What happens to unclaimed tokens?

Any tokens not claimed by December 31, 2026 will claimed by the team, of which most will be added to permanent liquidity locks. This benefits all remaining RMRK holders by increasing locked supply and trading depth.

Note on legacy allocations

A portion of the Substrate supply includes tokens held by legacy team members from the Kusama era. These allocations are being honored as part of this consolidation.
